Extra long show intro this week. No particular reason. We played “Schmeprady” for the first time this week, with two listeners competing for prizes. We had an interesting evening. A story about someone’s hat spiraled out of control and turned into tales of infidelity and shame. Really the term “Hairyolas” only came up twice. Once during the show and once at the very end of the after-show. It was the funniest name the chat room so we went with it. Quite a bit was covered on this episode. We continued Workin’ on Walken, and had quite a few people call in their Walken. We had a brief Value Gamer segment where we discussed Dungeon Defenders (NOTE- At time of writing this, it’s $2.99 on Amazon and I’m told activates on Steam). We also dove back into some talk about Ventchat Vegas and Sweatpants Club. Esta and Sauce went into their raiding a bit, and Sauce updated everyone who ordered Ventchat shirts. There almost wasn’t a show this week due to massive amounts of computer issues just before showtime. Thanks to the people who support us via our Amazon link and donations, there were repair parts purchased and installed just in time to start.

Turdhat’s wife gave birth to a baby on Monday and he was still here to talk all about how it went down, including the open twitter advice he asked for and received about circumcision. Fen talked about heading into the dentist to get knocked out and groped (and get a root canal). Sauce tossed in some news on his dog, who was taken into the vet in pain. Esta surprised us with a new space adventure. Tarconus sent in a very enjoyable song about Sauce to top it off, besides your great calls and emails of course. Naturally there is much more that never makes it into the notes.

Rustee from the Slash2 Podcast was our guest this week! Rustee + Fen = long show. Give Rustee’s podcast a listen over at www.slash2podcast.com. Podcast 76: Morning Scratch And Sniff

The show opens with some questionable headset recharging practices. Esta and Sauce got a kill in WoW that was a server first! The hosts talked about the twitter avatar changing trends and how that started, and Turdhat actually started following people back! Arcy was on BGO’s podcast at 5wowthings.com so go check that out.

Books were purchased for the Turdhat reading challenge this week, more details in the first segment. Big thanks to Deathstance for his donation and support to kick off this whole thing.

Fen talked a little bit about DC Comic’s direct to DVD movie releases, and how they compare with the live action movies. Many of these are on Netflix streaming. On the topic of Netflix, we check in again with Giggidee’s attempt to watch a metric ton of Netflix streaming titles.

Turdhat had the hosts each get a jar of sesame seeds each this week, so they could perform an experiment. We began this experiment live on the show, and you can hear our results next week. Learn more about the experiment in the show or have your sesame seeds ready when you listen to join in on the experiment.

Sauce went through the #ventchatword, join in on that on twitter with that hashtag. Fen attempted to make an intro for it and failed miserably.

Can you feel the tension in the start of the show? I know I can…Fen and Turdhat start off with a gripe, and you’ll hear why when you get to the “RL News” segment of the show. The actual introductions begin from the afterlife, as the rapture obviously occurred…in the News there is a brief mention of how much money the rapture made certain people.

Fen got an Ipad this week, and talks about how he ended up acquiring it, and his thoughts thus far. Sayomara of Grand Old Podcast wrote an article that included the show called “Podcasting As Art”. Turdhat, Forresst and Fen got their Magicka on this week and there was a little non-spoiler Game of Thrones talk as well.

In the news Blizzcon was discussed, and the perennial sell-out of the tickets in one second. The gentleman that responsible for the rapture nonsense was mentioned, there was an audio clip about his profiting though fear mongering. There was also a discussion about a woman that pulled out a sword at a pizza place. The Macho Man passed away this week, which deserves a mention as well. Last but certainly not least the announcement of Blizzard’s latest venture into adding services for an additional fee is discussed.

All four of the hosts took a personality test, and talk about the accuracy of their results. Deathstance presented a challenge to Turdhat to read some WoW lore, listen in the show for the surprising details, the incentive is quite large. The hosts answered questions about what they wanted to be when they grew up.

In the discussion topic, Turdhat’s fate was addressed, and without spoiling anything the punishment is glorious, the details continue to bleed over into this week’s discussion topic. You’ll have to listen to hear what exactly but the punishment will delight you. Get on the forums to keep up with this.

In the new Value Gamer segment Terraria was reviewed, and what exactly makes a game a good value was discussed. Minecraft, Magicka, Battleheart, Dungeon Raid, Guild Wars, and more were all mentioned. We would love to hear your recommendations for games with value! A $20.00-ish cap is great, as is something download-able on Steam or something like it. Online play is a plus, and if we pick your game Turdhat is offering a prize!

Right off the bat we learn that Turdhat cracked and drank some beers. Fen flipped out and went to the store and bought some beer. While Fen was gone Turdhat decided to pick this occasion to play his banjo live…but OOPS! It got recorded, and is included for your listening pleasure. Besides Sober September being broken, we talked a little about Esta and Sauce (Sauce is back!) raiding this week, LOTRO going free to play, and #OperationTurdhat. Our callers this week had their usual crazy questions, one of them asked for hooker stories and we tried to oblige. Another caller left some drunk messages that were turned into a little song. Not sure if it made the podcast, but we took control on our chat room this week and handed out a deserved (temp) ban, that you needed to be there live to appreciate. An educated guess at a release date for Cataclysm tops our WoW news, and we talked about how everyone came up with their race and class choices in our discussion topic. After that we tried to come up with creative ways to spread the word about the show, and in the after show we let you guys hear some of what we talk about when we are having our pre-show discussions. We got a lot of laughs out of the R2D2 translator this week. Fen and Turdhat decided to have a Sober September, except for the night of this recording, which was called Slip Up Saturday. Esta got yelled at by some random person for having a low gear score on his alt, and actually voted to kick them. We talked about the funny search terms people use to find us. We also talked a little about Turdhat’s contest. In our phone calls this week a listener found a clip of someone that sounds a lot like Esta, so we played that and forced Esta to say the same stuff to compare. We answered listener phone in questions as well. We hit the relevant news topics of the week and dove into our discussion topic: What would you do with a billion dollars if you had to assign it to a project? We start the show talking about a lasagna sandwich…with mayo on it. Then we talked a little about our week, and Sauce’s new fan. The Turdhat contest winners are announced, and Sauce talked a little about raiding with his alts. One of the two Twitter holdouts also got an account this week! When we got into the listener calls, we found out one listener had a little too much to drink and left over a half hour worth of messages (no we didn’t play them all), including a pair of impressions you won’t want to miss. In the news we talked about China getting the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, and a federal lawsuit filed by Blizzard against a gold farming operation. When we hit the discussion topic, we talked about all of our worst dates, and the listener’s worst dates or boyfriends/girlfriends. This was a tad depressing, but afterwords we introduced a new segment to the show: Stuff We Like, about all things the Ventchat crew likes. Lots of interesting and often free stuff. Then we dove headlong into a long discussion about everything we know about Esta, almost to an insane degree, Beautiful Mind style…and a quasi-contest developed. We’re inviting listeners to post their own drawn pictures of what they think Esta looks like. There may not be an official prize, but Esta will pick out the closest one to reality and at least blow you a kiss. This continued into the aftershow, and more fun and more thrills.

Sauce is on a well deserved vacation this week, and the other boys were planning on taking a week off….but then the news dropped…and Esta and Fen knew they HAD to do a show. This is the type of news that has far reaching sweeping implications for many many guilds out there, not to mention all of the other proposed changes. YES, we know that not all of these changes will make it to a server near you….we HOPE not all of these changes make it…because the results could be less than ideal.
